Progressive, strong growth, global organization has an immediate need for an experienced Tax Manager focusing on the Canadian Division Taxes. This position is responsible for all aspects of the organization's Canadian tax matters. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of US tax returns (with Canadian operations & subs). You will gather data for the quarterly tax provision, assist in providing tax advice to clients such as senior leadership executives, and operations personnel.You will direct and develop International Tax staff. This p[osition is responsible for tax compliance and defending tax positions on income tax audits. Research US and foreign tax laws and regulations as they relate to international tax planning strategies for Canadian operations. Research and analyze US Tax consequences of restructurings that affect the Canadian Division. Direct special projects as needed. Conduct regular meetings with business unit managers to educate them on any or recent Canadian tax laws affecting their business operations. This position is a Strategic Business Partner with the executive leadership of the organization.

You will respond to inquiries of on a variety of Canadian tax planning, accounting, compliance and audit issues. Insures that appropriate transactions are made as necessary. Work with Corporate Controller and audit team on preparation of schedules for various federal, state and local tax credits and incentives like federal research & development credit, etc. You will handle and direct special Canadian tax-related projects as they arise. Work with Senior Management to evaluate and implement international tax strategies for the Canadian Division.

Requirements:
BS degree in Accounting, an Masters in Tax is preferred. A CPA or CA is preferred.
You should have broad knowledge of the US & International corporate income tax and how it affects Canadian Taxes. The ability to review and analyze current and accumulated earnings pools of all controller foreign entities in Canada in order to maximize US and Global benefits derived from each operation's tax situation. Strong attention to detail. Strong analytical skills. Must have experience with Federal and State Corporate Income Tax, State Gross Tax Receipts, Payroll and Property taxes. FAS109 & FIN 48 experience a plus.

Must be able to deal with multiple levels of people inside and outside the department. Demonstrate an understanding of foreign credit and incentive programs as it relates to Canadian Taxes. You should be able to effectively apply Canada-specific income tax laws to business situations among business unit managers and department managers. You should have 5-12 years relevant international tax experience. BIG 4 or global company experience is preferred.
