Description:
Primarily responsible for the preparation of International income tax returns (predominantly Canada) and U.S. Information Returns of Foreign Entities.
Preparation of estimated/extension payments, assisting with notices and audits, and working on the quarterly international tax provision, including the calculation of international book to tax differences, conducting tax account reconciliations, and responding to various requests.
Secondary responsibility assisting with preparation of federal M-1's as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the international and federal tax laws and regulations, accounting and related application of such, and exercise a high level of independent judgment within established systems and procedures
- Responsible for the preparation of International income/capital tax returns and preparation of estimated/extension tax payments
- Responsible for the preparation of U.S. Information
- Returns of Foreign Entities (Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865)
- Responsible for international tax research
- Secondary responsibilities to include assistance with federal M-1 calculations, federal provision queries, and federal research as needed.
- Identify tax savings opportunities throughout the tax return process
- Responsible for assisting with preparation of quarterly and annual FAS 109 and FIN 48 accruals, including calculation of International book to tax differences, conducting tax account reconciliations and working on the monthly balance sheet FLUX report
- Respond to tax notices and inquiries by taxing jurisdictions in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist in responding to International income and capital tax audits
- Responsible for gathering, organizing, calculating and correctly utilizing data from multiple general ledger and accounting systems
- Ability to work with limited supervision
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of combined international and federal tax experience
- Strong foundation in federal and international income taxation, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax return compliance a plus
- Knowledge of FAS 109 and FIN 48
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA certification preferred
