The company designs and builds compact, hyperspectral, multispectral and high-resolution digital imaging systems and gimbals suitable for light aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Imagery acquired by FLD’s aerial sensor systems is used to create extremely detailed photogrammetric images, digital elevation models and to perform rapid change detection analysis for a variety of applications in the government and commercial sectors. FLD is a full service provider with world-wide capabilities to “fly a complete mission” including planning, data collection, processing and analysis.

Primary responsibilities will include software and/or system engineering for implementing, testing and supporting advanced technology products including airborne imaging systems, gimbal systems, mission planning, and navigation and control systems, and image processing systems.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a motivated self starter and can work on independent R&D projects. They will pose excellent software development, laboratory and engineering skills, exhibit drive, motivation, and initiative, and possess strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. For the Software/Systems Engineer position, experience working independently and in small teams is required. The successful applicant will be expected to perform system/software testing, algorithm design, software coding and implementation, and systems engineering prototyping, integration, and test of airborne instrument to support its system engineer team work.
Specific qualifications include:
- 2-3 years experience in engineering programming using C , C#, C++ and etc, prefer experience in coding software for signal processing, image processing, navigation, optical calibration, robotics and/or computer vision.
- Demonstrated experience with systems and software engineering processes and principles (software planning, design, development tools, configuration management, test, and QA methods). Basic knowledge of CMMI/ISO/IEEE standards.
- Demonstrated experience in prototype development
- Experience with GIS and/or terrain-based software applications is highly desired.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects
- Computer system trouble shooting
- Basic knowledge/skills of wiring
