Description:

The Supervisor, Parts Engineering is responsible to lead and oversee the activities of the Technical Advisor Parts regarding the following: Technical Support to Customer Service and Logistics and Supply Chain Operations, Parts Sales, for the Alstom Fleet Units in NAM. Interface with GT/CC, Generator, and Steam Turbine Product Line Engineering departments.

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Provide leadership to Technical Advisor (TA)

- Develop training regimen for the group

- Establish process metrics

- Champion improvements within processes

- Establish and enforce scope guidelines between groups internal and external to Logistics and Supply Chain Operations, Product Lines, and Customer Service

- Maintain information flow between engineering in the US and the product center

- Oversee execution of the following activities:
Assist CSMs in the preparation of spare parts delivery requirements supporting outages and business forecasts.
Assist CSM/PM, Parts Sales and inventory/logistics group to identify parts
Provide technical evaluation regarding parts inventory obsolescence.
Maintain communication w/ Technical Dept. (Service Bulletins, CIBs, FSIs, and Parts Catalogs).
Develop parts maintenance requirements lists (parts categorization) and define as prescribed in the O&M Manuals, FSIs, and FSRs
Provide direction, and Identify configuration changes to fleet configuration support for configuration management.
Investigate suitable replacement solution in case of parts no more existing, in co-operation with engineering
Assist the CSMs, PM’s and proposal manager in the development of spare parts & retrofit/upgrade proposals.
Aid in the issuance of all spare parts technical communications for part number change notification documentation.
Support new equipment sales requests for spare parts support packages.
Identify opportunities to US source parts and work with engineering to prepare technical data to support SCM’s efforts
Support spare parts technical communications for customer information bulletins and part number change documentation
Ensure newly assembled units’ configuration is accurate upon shipment from factory if applicable
Review field service reports (FSR) for configuration changes and assign updates to fleet configuration support accordingly
Develop recommended parts lists as requested
