Dynamic, strong-growth, global manufacturer located in the Columbia, SC area. The Process Engineer will support and create processes and activities within the functional area, and works with the Engineering Staff to support the development of new business and maintenance of current businesses. Participates as a team member on large projects and/or leads smaller scope engineering projects. This position performs analysis on manufacturing methods and troubleshoots manufacturing issues.

You should have high speed manufacturing experience with any experience in fiber optic cable manufacturing a plus. You will prepare unit cost estimates and make recommendations on equipment needs. You are accountable for justification and cost control of capital expenditures. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving process performance in assembly, test, and manufacturing areas. Develops performance standards, establish the departmental engineering and documentation standards, identifies the customer needs (internal or external) and contract requirements. Develops project cost estimates, projected schedules, and resource requirements, and manages them throughout the project. Works with the Engineering Leadership to assist the development of engineering, product and platform design and performance parameters, technical documentation, and subcontractor specifications.

You must be able to identify project tasks, develop plans and then implement plans. You should have experience working in cross-functional teams environment. Looking for Lean/Six Sigma problem solving skills.

Requirements:
BS degree in Mechanical, Polymers, or Chemical Engineering and 5-10 years experience in a large engineering environment. You should have knowledge of manufacturing & distribution capabilities, process improvements, determine root cause, project costing methods, assembly procedures, bill of material structure, and computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Project. You should have the ability to develop resource models for projects. You should have 2-5 years of project management or technical leadership.
