Dynamic, Fortune 500 level global growth company has an immediate need for a VP of Product Engineering Worldwide - HVAC product line. This position leads the global engineering programs covering the development & creation of new products, processes and materials. Reports to President.
You will ensure that products developed comply with U.S. and international regulations. You will coordinate work on the development of new products, redesign of existing products including driving the process among Project and Product Engineers, other Engineering personnel, and reporting on progress. You will assume full technical project ownership for the complete design and development of new & existing products. You will work with multifunctional product development teams. Participate in design reviews throughout the entire product development process. Participate in product life cycle management. You must be able to assess customer needs and select appropriate solutions for complex HVAC applications. Duties include:
- Analyze complex systems and apply engineering principles associated with design activities.
- Responsible for the selection, layout, and sizing of systems, staff, and equipment.
- Coordinate & Chair the Product Safety Committee meetings; direct and lead resolutions to issues.
- Interactions with all internal departments including direct interaction corporate regulatory departments...set priorities, identify and resolve issues surrounding schedules and budgets.
- Oversees Worldwide Intellectual Property/Patent programs.
- Manages Engineering organization.
- Selects and employs staff, consults with Sales Groups, Coordinates Test Programs.
- Maintain awareness of emerging Worldwide Regulatory trends and legislation relative to our businesses
REQUIREMENTS:
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent, MBA preferred
- Minimum 10 years experience in design, development, and testing of residential and commercial HVAC systems & products.
- Minimum of 10 years Quality, Reliability, and Safety Management experience.
- Knowledge of equipment controls and system integration, electrical circuitry, heat transfer technology, thermodynamics, refrigeration circuits design, prototype production and testing.
- Experienced in experimental design and other problem solving techniques.
- Experience in "Upper Level" Management roles.
- Should be a Product Cost reduction champion.
- Active ASHRAE and ARI memberships.
