Dynamic, global manufacturer with an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer in HV Testing. The Electrical Test Engineer will conduct planning, coordinating and directing EHV electrical test function and QC Testers, and works with the Engineering Staff to support the development of new business and maintenance of current businesses. Participates as a team member on large projects and/or leads smaller scope electrical engineering projects. This position commissions all and any new equipment installed for EHV testing in the plant.
You should have high speed manufacturing experience with any experience in cable, textiles, automotive, or plastic extrusion manufacturing a plus. You will troubleshoot high voltage ac and partial discharge cable failures. You are accountable for justification and cost control of capital expenditures. You will be responsible for operationally proficient HV Test equipment & related auxiliary equipment and you are responsible for the design of non-routine electrical production tests; coordinate with R&D Group and outside laboratories to perform tests beyond the local plant capabilities. You will be responsible for planning, directing and overseeing auditing and statistical analysis of test results. Additionally you will plan and participate in supplier Technical and ISO quality audits as directed by the Chief Engineer, investigate customer inquiries in conjunction with HV Eng, QA, and Process Eng formulating corrective actions to ensure a through understanding of the complaints, concerns and problems encountered with EHV products. -· Provide assistance, as necessary, to the MV Lab Electrical test cages.
Strong liaison with the QA Functions
Works with the Engineering Leadership to assist the development of engineering, product and platform design and performance parameters, technical documentation, and subcontractor specifications. You must be able to identify project tasks, develop plans and then implement plans. You should have experience working in cross-functional teams environment.
Requirements:
BSEE degree, MSEE degree would be a plus. Experience in HV testing or related electrical testing. Extrusion manufacturing experience is a plus. You should have 5-15 years experience in a large engineering environment. You should have knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, ISO 9000 Quality Standards, continuous improvement tools, knowledge of statistical methods and programs, proficient with MS Office. . You should have experience with Supervisor/Management training or technical leadership.
