The Industrial Engineer will support and create processes and activities within the functional area, and works with the Engineering staff to support the development of new business and maintenance of current businesses. Participates as a team member on large projects and/or leads smaller scope engineering projects. This is part of an "Engineer Development Program" company-wide.
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving process performance in assembly, test and assembly areas. Develops performance standards, establish the departmental engineering and documentation standards, identifies the customer needs (internal or external) and contract requirements. Develops project cost estimates, projected schedules, and resource requirements, and manages them throughout the project. Works with the Engineering Leadership to assist the development of engineering, product and platform design and performance parameters, technical documentation, and subcontractor specifications.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSIE or BSME) and 2-5 years experience in a large engineering environment. An MBA would be a plus. Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification is a plus. Knowledge of manufacturing & distribution capabilities, process improvements focus, work station layout, project costing methods, assembly procedures, bill of material structure, and computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Project. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and experience applying Demand Flow is a plus.
