Dynamic, strong-growth, global manufacturer has immediate openings. The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides engineering services to both Production and Services Departments to improve and optimize the use of mechanical systems and equipment. Efforts are focused on improving long term reliability and preserving the safety of those operating and maintaining the equipment. This is with a Specialty Chemicals company. Participates as a team member on large projects and/or leads smaller scope engineering projects.
You will prepare unit cost estimates and make recommendations on equipment needs. You are accountable for maintaining the mechanical integrity of mechanical systems and equipment while reducing equipment repair costs. You are responsible to identifying and rectifying any deficiencies in existing systems and equipment. You will develop standards and instruction manuals for various control systems. Develops department performance standards, establish the departmental engineering and documentation standards, identifies the customer needs (internal or external) and requirements. Works with the Engineering Leadership to assist the development of engineering, product and platform design and performance parameters, technical documentation, and subcontractor specifications. You will evaluate and recommend new equipment for all phases of processing.
You must be able to identify project tasks, develop plans and then implement plans. You should have experience working in cross-functional teams environment. Looking for Lean/Six Sigma problem solving skills.
Requirements:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. You should have 3+ years experience in maintenance or engineering and knowledge of the design, selection, and application of process equipment such as compressors, centrifugal pumps, and exchangers. You should have knowledge of manufacturing & distribution capabilities, knowledge of electrical standards and safety standards, tooling, project costing methods, and computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products. You should have project management or technical leadership experience.
