Dynamic, strong-growth, global manufacturer has an immediate opening. The SR. Design Engineer will provide leadership for the Design Engineering department and provide necessary engineering input into the new product design process. You will lead in the research of new products and parts. The SR. Design Engineer will develop engineering variations for available components.

You will select and set standards, will work with engineers and suppliers to set standards for all parts and devices, will work with the suppliers to develop the software needed for the selection of the devices, and works with the Engineering Staff to support the development of new business and maintenance of current businesses. Participates as a team member on large projects and/or leads smaller scope engineering projects.

You should have experience supervises a Design Engineering group. You will prepare unit cost estimates and make recommendations on equipment needs. You will develop standards and instruction manuals for various control systems that are used in the market. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving performance in assembly, test, and manufacturing areas. Develops performance standards, establish the departmental engineering and documentation standards, identifies the customer needs (internal or external) and contract requirements. Works with the Engineering Leadership to assist the development of engineering, product and platform design and performance parameters, technical documentation, and subcontractor specifications. You will evaluate and recommend new equipment for all phases of processing.

You must be able to identify project tasks, develop plans and then implement plans. You should have experience working in cross-functional teams environment. Looking for Lean/Six Sigma problem solving skills.

Requirements:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred....Masters degree in a plus. You should have 5+ years experience in design engineering of sheet metal fabrication products. You should have knowledge of manufacturing & distribution capabilities, knowledge of electrical standards and safety standards, tooling, project costing methods, and computer skills required, including proficiency with Pro-E. You should have project management or technical leadership experience.
