Strong-growth, global manufacturer has an immediate opening in the manufacturing leadership group. The Senior Process Engineer's position is currently open due to a promotion. You will work with the development and implementation of plans for significant complex capital improvement and maintenance projects for manufacturing operations. You will lead the development and implementation of processing methods and controls. Critical project technical leadership responsibility for key division projects and initiatives. You will support, lead and create processes and activities within the functional area, and work with the Group Engineering Staff to support the development of new business and maintenance of current businesses. Participates as a team member on large projects and/or leads smaller scope engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- You will manage the development, assessment and implementation of techniques and equipment of high complexity used in production processes to maximize the efficiency of the operations at one or more plant locations.
- The SR Process Engineer provides plans, projects and design systems at plant level that increases productivity by improving the integration of people, materials, systems, equipment and finance.
- Researches recommendations and implements highly complex, more efficient and safer manufacturing processes using new, existing or modified machinery, equipment or systems for plant or plants.
- Develops work standards, schedules, procedures and performance standards for work applications to improve efficiency and cost reductions.
- Manages the analyses and recommended changes to work operations to reduce noise, pollution, toxic chemicals, etc,.
- Manages daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and other reporting systems output from engineering staff. Develops, recommends and implements cross-functional training in projects, systems, applications, for plant level engineering staff.
- Provides internal consulting services including process mappings, process and layout design, ROI analysis, vendor recommendations.
You should have high speed manufacturing experience with any experience in textiles manufacturing a plus. You will prepare unit cost estimates and make recommendations on equipment needs. You are accountable for justification and cost control of capital expenditures. You will evaluate and recommend new equipment for all phases of processing. You will develop and direct staff.
You must be able to identify project tasks, develop plans and then implement plans. You should have experience working in cross-functional team -’s environment. Looking for Lean/Six Sigma problem solving skills.
Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering. You should have 6+ years -’ experience in a large engineering environment. Textile Industry experience would be a plus. Six Sigma & LEAN experience is a plus. You should have knowledge of polymers and recycled materials.
You should have knowledge of manufacturing & distribution capabilities, process improvements, determine root cause, ISO 9000 experience, tooling, project costing methods, assembly procedures, bill of material structure, and computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Project. You should have the ability to develop resource models for projects. You should have project management or technical leadership experience.
