Description:

- Work closely with our senior interaction/product designer to understand requirements and implement to both written requirement and shared understanding of intent
- Embrace classic user-centric design concepts to drive radically simple and usable user interfaces, prioritizing work-flow and pragmatic functionality over technology for technology’s sake
- Write high-quality, modular, supportable code that can be easily modified and/or replaced as product needs evolve
- Be adept at building rich client interfaces (Swing) and in implementing browser-based interfaces (JSP/servlets/frameworks)
- Have a firm grasp of computer science fundamentals and advanced concepts, including comfort in multi-threading & concurrent programming
- Ability to serve as a team technology lead in areas where you are expert
- Work closely with product management to help validate product plans and create rapid prototypes in support of product planning efforts
- Assist in decomposing feature requirements into work tasks and providing estimates around time/effort/testing required to implement
- Work closely with architects to understand the expectations and requirements of your implementation
- Work closely with server-side engineers to appropriately instrument the model for ease and modularity of building interfaces on top of it
- Assist in the growth and development of the development organization by collaborating with other team members and sharing knowledge from your field of expertise
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Web based and Commercial software products a must
- A degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience in the computer industry
- Proven ability to lead a technical team
- Programming skills (Java/Swing required, servlets and JSP experience strongly preferred)
- Deep knowledge of system administration in any of Linux, Solaris, AIX, HPUX or Windows server-class operating systems
- A working knowledge of multiple operating systems at a user level
- Basic understanding of complex, multi-tier applications and troubleshooting in those environments
- Familiarity with the thought-leaders and fundamental principles of data visualization
- A deep understanding of networking, protocol stack implementations and network troubleshooting
- Experience with network/systems/application management tools/frameworks
- Experience with virtualization technologies, including any of VMWare ESX, Xen, xVM, Linux-VServer, OpenVZ, KVM or Hyper-V
- Successful start-up experience in a software PRODUCT company
- A self-starter mentality and ability to work unsupervised
