Job Responsibilities
SSCI seeks a strong candidate with acoustics experience to joint the System Engineering Division. The ideal candidate will exhibit drive, motivation, and initiative, and possess strong teamwork, and communication skills.
The successful applicant will be expected to perform analysis, algorithm design and systems engineering prototyping, integration, and test of acoustic systems primarily in the underwater environment. Primary problem domains include automated target detection and tracking and sensor design and testing, as well as applicability to unmanned system missions.
Requirements
MS with 5+ years or Ph.D in Mechanical, Electrical, Ocean or Systems Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in system development and testing of underwater acoustics systems, with particular emphasis target detection/tracking
- Proven leadership skills and ability to coordinate tasks among subcontractors
- Effective communications and proposal writing skills
- Experience with systems analysis/design, software engineering, and real-time systems prototyping (Matlab, C, C++, OpenCV, embedded systems).
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for DoD Security Clearance required.
- Expertise in systems and software engineering processes (planning, requirements analysis, design, development tools, configuration management, test and QA methods).
