Oncology Nurse Director

We are searching for a newly created position of Nurse Director to join this great team. This group works in a brand new state of the art facility with space to allow for growth. This person will give leadership to approx. over 125 indirect reports and works closely with the Executive Director of the Cancer Center. The Nurse Director will lead Nurse Navigation, Infusion, Palliative Care and staff competency.
Medical Oncology has 55 infusion chairs with twelve active Medical Oncologists. Some chairs are leased to Physician groups and others run by the hospital staff. Infusion in the Cancer Center is outpatient with a nurse coordinator. The Impatient Infusion Manager will also report to this director.
Radiation Oncology is all Varian equipment with a new Trilogy Linac. Special procedures include IMRT, HDR and SRS. This department is a regional and national leader in therapy partnering with RTOG, Cleveland Clinic and the National Cancer Institute. Patient volume ranges from 55-70 a day. The Physics staff is outstanding as each individual is empowered to focus on areas of strength and interest.
Future projects include:
-aligning the chemo regiment across the board
-implementing pediatrics coming over from the children -’s hospital next door
-finishing the EMR process
-regional partnerships with other local facilities
-becoming a teaching site
The Executive Director is a seasoned leader in Cancer Services. Collaboration best describes the culture of this team. The Medical Director has a fresh and progressive vision allowing the team to excel for many years. The staff isn -’t concerned about who gets the credit as they check their egos at the door for the greater good of patient care. As the Executive Director continues to focus on more strategic development, this Nurse Director will be able to grow in their operational leadership in Cancer Services.
This commitment to quality has caused them to achieve Magnet designation for nursing excellence, and the only hospital on the West Coast selected by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to participate in its Community Cancer Centers Pilot Program (NCCCP). Clinical research is encouraged as par for the course.
