Dynamic, global growth manufacturer...... Brand Names known Worldwide ......This is an immediate need for an Plant Safety/HR Specialist - fast-track, high profile position. You will identify, develop, implement and manage safety, and Human Resources programs and initiatives with the plant operations. In this position you will be charged with taking the Safety & HR Program to the next level. You will be responsible for promoting a safe, incident free work environment and ensuring compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. You will formulate policies and procedures, develop goals and metrics, monitor potential air, water and soil environmental releases, communicate hazards and recommend controls. You will participate in incident investigations, develop/coordinate and supervise training programs.
You will improve and sustain the Safety management system at the facility. You will establish strategies and programs to proactively identify Safety risks and hazards and develop plans to eliminate or control those risks.
This role is charged with "wall to wall" responsibilities for employee relations & safety. It develops a positive Employee Relations climate in this Non-Union plant. The scope of responsibility includes Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Communications, Issue Resolution, policies, programs and activities to support the business requirements, team development, internal and government compliance
Critical Competencies:
* Knowledge of Federal EHS laws and regulations and Company Policies
* Working knowledge of regulatory and Company reporting requirements
* Working knowledge of recognized management system standards (ISO, OHSAS, etc.)
* Working knowledge of heavy industrial manufacturing and assembly operations
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Interpret, communicate the interpretation of, and ensure adherence to all provisions of company policies
* Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance regarding employment issues including but not limited to corrective action, grievance resolution and other employee relations functions
* Answer grievances/complaints and prepare for, attend and represent management during arbitration and issue resolution.
Requirements:
BS Degree Engineering or Human Resources and a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on Safety experience in a manufacturing plant. You should have prior experience implementing pro-active safety programs. You should have a proven track record in leading culture change and improving safety performance. Base salary range of $50-60k + Bonus opportunity.
