Performance Surfaces & Materials (PS&M) business is currently seeking an experienced candidate who is a self-starter that can drive change and deliver superior results for the position of Senior Director, Strategic Planning and New Business Development. This successful candidate will be a strong and experienced leader that is results focused and can see the whole picture while delivering independently in a collaborative manner while inspiring others to achieve superior results. This position will be based in our Kennesaw, GA office.

This position has full ownership for strategic business planning, commercial development projects and new business development in “non-carpet” categories, including the P&L for brand extensions. The individual selected will be responsible for helping us define and execute strategies to grow the carpet business and growing economic value add (EVA) of the residential surfaces business by growing STAINMASTER® brand extensions.

Responsibilities:
- Ownership for overall business strategic planning, demand planning, development of strategic points of view, earnings bridges by key strategic element and hold value analysis for the overall residential business.
- Lead specific planning initiatives and commercial transaction projects which are generating in support executing against the residential vision.
- Responsible for Residential analyst organization, development of key business metrics and business analysis support for business functions and segments.
- Responsible for growing the economic value add (EVA) of the Residential Surfaces business through growth of STAINMASTER® brand extensions which includes P&L responsibility for this business segment
- Responsible to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and good business ethics
- Mentor the application of Market Based Management® (MBM®) to prioritize and achieve superior results, including leading the planning and new business development team in the pursuit of advancing our MBM® culture while delivering on key bets and pursuits
- Advance resources and capabilities; continually assess talent to ensure strong contributors that are creating a competitive advantage and upgrade as necessary
- Lead the marketing, promotional and advertising teams to define consumer needs and develop marketing strategies to maximize the value created from new technology platforms.
- Benchmark competitive marketing offerings offering’s and determine trade quality ratings of our offerings.

Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in a business strategy and planning or commercial development leadership role
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of development of business strategies and economic modeling; including in-depth understanding of business fundamentals
- Demonstrates the ability to develop strategic points of view from market analysis and translate into business opportunities and strategies to capture value.
- Previous experience in leading and working with teams and collaboration across business segments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that allows the individual to connect with various audiences and gain credibility quickly
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time

Preferences:

- Knowledge of floor covering industry and value chains
- MBA
- Basic knowledge and understanding of laws and regulatory compliance matters.
