Dynamic,strong growth Fortune 500 level manufacturer is recruiting for a Materials Manager at their "showboat plant operation" in the Florence, South Carolina area. Company is in expansion due to product line additions and growth of existing product lines business. The Materials Manager establishes production plans that are consistent with inventory strategy, service, and working capital goals. They will review orders in process to keep informed of manufacturing status. You will optimize the utilization of assets by overseeing and directing production scheduling activities in support of production plans.

The Materials Manager reports to the Plant Manager. The Materials Manager establishes priorities for the distribution of incoming and outgoing materials, monitors operations to ensure deadlines are met, establishes sequences for manufacturing. Works closely with plant safety and quality teams to proactively identify issues, develop procedures, and give the appropriate training and equipment to employees. Works closely with Product Development on development of new products.

The position requires proven materials management success, statistical managerial techniques, and controls budgets. Develops and works with Supervisors in all areas. You should enjoy a daily challenge of efficient production; have conflict resolution skills, and success at improving productivity and problem solving. This position is part of the Strategic Plant Leadership Team.

Requirements:
We are looking for a BS degree in Engineering or in Business with 3+ years of production planning, materials planning and leadership/management experience. Any textiles experience would be a plus. You should have knowledge of budgeting and reporting production and materials performance, knowledge of expense control to plan experience.. Prefer MRP and ERP Systems planning experience. CPIM certification is a plus. Large scales, high speed manufacturing operations experience.
