Dynamic, strong-growth, global manufacturer has immediate openings. The Quality Engineer will drive implementation of Pro-Cert/Quality Improvements at suppliers. The Quality Engineer will serve as a communication channel between the customer's Supplier Engineer and the Design Engineers to ensure that all aspects of the development of the project stay on schedule and meet Quality requirements., and will work with the Engineering Staff to support the development of new business and maintenance of current businesses. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Assurance methods to ensure product exceeds customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor information associated with the quality of a project, make process improvements and evaluate corrective actions taken.
2. Address any quality issues associated within a project and communicate to manufacturing departments
3. Communicate with supplier/vendor regarding nonconforming material/product.
4. Evaluating and tracking customer returns/rejects. Plans, develops and implements process controls to reduce customer rejects.
5. Drive improvements in manufacturing/supplier Quality.
6. Prepare any documentation associated with project launch and develop quality targets.
7. Coordinate any training associated with the launch of a new product.
8. Attend tool trials and perform internal joint checks to feedback part development/quality issues.
9. Coordinate functional trials and Part Submission approval for initial part approval and design changes.
10. Submit parts& material approval documentation to the customer.
Develops performance standards, drives designs for manufacturing improvements for future products, establish the departmental engineering and documentation standards, identifies the customer needs (internal or external) and contract requirements. Works with the Engineering Leadership to assist the development of engineering, product and platform design and performance parameters, technical documentation, and subcontractor specifications.
You must be able to identify project tasks, develop plans and then implement plans. You should have experience working in cross-functional teams environment. Looking for Lean/Six Sigma problem solving skills.
Requirements:
BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or a BS degree in Operations Management.. You should have 5+ years experience in Quality. You should have knowledge of manufacturing & distribution capabilities, knowledge of integrated computer programs and safety standards, tooling. Any project management or technical leadership experience is a plus. Experience in completing Q+ audits. Ability to travel 30-40%.
