Dynamic global manufacturing company has a Senior Buyer's opportunity available for an innovative, results oriented person. This position is the supply market expert for the company in the Injection Molded Parts and Machined Parts category. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining Sourcing Strategy and Savings Goals, assisting with the Bidding Process, managing Supplier Relationships, and being the driving influence to continually improve the Company's cost position. You will lead teams and fill in the the Purchasing Manager in his absence. This position may career-track to a Purchasing Manager's position.
Responsibilities:
You will develop, implement and evaluate the company's procurement strategies and processes as they pertain to Injection Molded parts and Machined Parts, and working with Job Shops. You will work with other associates engaged in the purchase of other products and services for the company. You will establish metrics and standards to ensure that purchased materials support quality, cost, inventory and service levels. You will oversee cradle to grave process from intent to purchase, new supplier on-boarding, performance, and supplier exit.
Duties include Supplier management, Cost Plan development and implementation, supply base development, performance tracking and reporting. You will utilize domestic & global sourcing techniques to achieve the best price, delivery, and quality. You will lead the Supplier consolidation and standardization initiative.
Requirements:
The successful Candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering and a strong Technical aptitude. You should have 5+ years of experience purchasing Goods and Services (metals, chemicals, electronic components). You should have experience with purchasing for domestic manufacturing sites and an ability to plan and organize multiple activities concurrently. You should have responsibility for an Annual Spend of $10 million+. Should have MRP & Purchasing Systems experience. A CPM Certification is a plus.
