-Good core .net skills. We should ensure 7+ years of experience in working with .net systems. We need strong background in .net 3.5 - - - -– this must be visibly evident in the resumes.
-Good Windows Development skills. We should ensure that the candidate has worked extensively on desktop based systems and\or client server systems. Web based development, while nice to have, is not our core requirement here.
-Large project experience. Our clients work on large enterprise scale products and we need someone who - - - -’s done it before. Small team experience or small LOB type application experience wont be a good match for what we need.
-Design and Architectural skills. This is a must have. Some of our positions report to senior management and Chief Architects - - - -– we need senior candidates who can drive the architecture of large scale systems. Experience with distributed system design and SOA architectures is a nice to have.
-Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) skills. We need to have at least 1 year of hard core WPF experience. Candidates who have - - - -“read about it - - - -”, have - - - -“basic knowledge about it - - - -”, have - - - -“used WPF to build a UI screen - - - -”, etc wont match. Extensive experience with windows forms is nice to have - - - -– if there is significant experience in winforms, we can lower the bar somewhat on WPF.
-Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) skills. We need to have at least 1 year of hard core WCF experience. Please see my comments above on WPF.
-Strong Communication Skills. These are customer facing roles. Strong communications skills required to interact with customers is a must have.
