A very profitable global pre-IPO internet company is looking for a Sr. Oracle DBA. The company has been in business for 7+ years, has been profitable for 4+ years, is doing business internationally, is expanding and has a total of 250+ employees (50+ Technology staff).

The Oracle DBA will be part of a team of Oracle DBA’s responsible for maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting Oracle 10g instances running on 64 bit RHAS/ES v4.0 Linux. Company has a multi terabyte environment and OLTP databases are handling large volumes. They are currently running a multi node RAC 10g Cluster on Linux in production. The company is in the process of building out a new larger scalable cutting edge architecture to handle a large increase in data and volume from new products and services. Company is running Grid Control for performance tuning and monitoring. They are utilizing DataGuard for physical Standby and Failover. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the testing and moving into production of new v10g databases and technologies and will be responsible for performance tuning, troubleshooting and issue resolution of a very large and complex 10g/Linux environment. The Oracle DBA will also be responsible for analyzing, solving and creating solutions for very complex performance tuning situations. The Oracle will also be responsible for all standard database administrative tasks, such as: proactive performance tuning and monitoring, trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery, security, partitioning, replication, installations and configurations on an as needed basis, apply patches and upgrades. The Production Oracle DBA will also be responsible for creating and modifying Perl and Korn Shell scripts to automate DBA tasks.
Sr Oracle DBA will report to Oracle DBA Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:
MUST have 8+ years of Oracle Production DBA experience, with at least 1+ year of 10g RAC on Linux (or Solaris) in a production environment
MUST have Oracle 10g RAC experience in production, preferably in a multi-node environment
MUST have Oracle 10g experience including RAC
Experience with Grid technologies, DataGuard and/or Data Streams is highly preferred
MUST be very strong with SQL Tuning (especially within RAC), SQL traces, SQLLDR
RMAN for backup and recovery
OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and performance tuning
Candidate must be at the expert level in Performance Tuning and Monitoring
Must be able to write Unix shell scripts and experience writing/modifying Perl scripts is a plus.
Extensive SQL and PL/SQL experience required.
BS/MS in CS or related field is a plus.
