Description:

The Enterprise Application Systems Engineer will be responsible for leveraging their technical expertise to
support MVP’s multi-tiered client/server based applications running on Intel / Windows server platforms. The Enterprise Application Systems Engineer will provide best in class customer service to MVP’s business and IT application users and ensure support calls are tracked, managed, and resolved according to established service level expectations. Works closely with project and support staff to proactively define and personally implement support processes, escalation paths, and performance metric reporting. This position requires the ability to work independently, and participate in the maintenance of standards, policies, procedures, and documentation regarding server build processes, security, and disaster recovery. The person in this role will respond to escalated incidents specific to the group’s applications, and resolve or coordinate the resolution of the incident with IT staff or other application owners. This is a senior level position, and as such this person will take a lead role in capacity planning, monitoring software license compliance, and monitoring server workload/performance as needed. Will be responsible for participating as a subject matter expert in the architectural planning and design of MVP’s multi-tier application server platforms, and the delivery of these systems to support business initiatives. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory compliance standards. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education: College Education or equivalent experience required in Health Care/Business Administration, Computer Science or related field. Current MCSE, MCSD or MCPD required

Minimum Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in an Application Support, Systems Analyst or Application Development role.
- Knowledge of Windows 2003 Server operating systems including installing, configuring and supporting HP/Intel based servers preferred

Required Skills:
- 3+ years supporting multi-tier enterprise applications
- In depth knowledge of file permissions, access controls and security
- An understanding of SQL Database Servers (Sybase, SQL Server and Oracle Preferred) and their front-end applications in a client server environment
- Working knowledge of scripting tools such as cs-script and VB script.
- Must have the ability to interact effectively with clients and IT personnel.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and detail orientation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, and the ability to meet required deadlines
- Reliable transportation and ability to work on-call and after hours as necessary.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SAN storage technologies strongly preferred.
- In depth knowledge of Windows 2003 Server with Active Directory User and Group Management
- Experience with Facets Application server from a technical operation perspective, a plus, but not required.
- Working knowledge of HP System Insight Manager
- Experience with VMWare ESX 3.5 and vSphere desired, but not required.
- Working experience of Microsoft clustering services within Windows 2003 Enterprise server, as well as network load balanced clusters desired but not required.
- Experience with HP blade servers and Alteris Rapid Deployment strongly preferred
