Description:

You will be responsible for wireless product testing in a live environment against carrier and service provider’s networks.

Responsibilities include but not restricted to directing a team of test engineers in the field to participate in Field Interoperability Tests (FIT) with customers and carriers, assist in customer’s acceptance testing, provide competitive product testing and analysis, as well as field issue investigation and validation.

As part of the scope of the testing, the candidate must be able to perform test site characterization, collect and document relevant data set, provide onsite as well as post test session data analysis to assist issue investigation and debug, and provide issue resolution validation.

Team members will interact closely with systems / RF engineering, software developers, customers, and carriers to complete their assigned objectives.

Candidates should be flexible in their work assignments as priorities can change quickly in this fast paced environment. Ability to travel on short notice is essential.



Qualifications

Experience with data service FIT testing process and procedure of CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS are highly desirable

Sound understanding of communications systems with focus on 3G wireless technologies such as IS-95, IS-2000, 1xEV-DO, UMTS, and HSPA required.

Working experience and knowledge of diagnostics and post processing tools such as QXDM, CAIT, QCAT, and Friendly Viewer are a must for this position.

Must be able to evaluate wireless communications devices through drive tests, logging and post analysis. Must be able to develop test procedures, execute tests, and isolate issues.

Understanding and familiarity of network protocols such as TCP/IP, FTP, PPP, IPCP are a plus

Familiarity with Perl scripting is preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Prior testing experience using channel emulators, spectrum analyzers and related equipment desirable.

Candidate must work well with others in a technical environment.



Experience

Minimum of two years experience in 1xRTT and EVDO field testing, debugging, and data analysis.



Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering required.



Special Requirement or Skills

MapInfo, Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Familiarity with WindCatcher is desirable Some travel is required
