julie's Short Bio

Julie is a graduate from the York University and Sheridan College program for Design based in Toronto, Ontario, graduating on the Dean's Honor roll and obtaining a Honors in Design diploma. She founded her own design company in May of 2008 and has since enjoyed working for herself, building client relations and practicing graphic design on a daily basis. Julie is staying busy working with small businesses to develop results oriented marketing materials and teaching art lessons to children on the weekend. She's looking forward to many new networking opportunities and new business opportunities.

My role at R Design includes managing project requests, building design ideas that suit the request and preparing files to print. I work directly with the senior designer to meet deadlines for the print based projects, marketing and retail design work.

One Twin Design was founded in May 2008 with the help of the Government of Ontario. I secured a government grant to cover start-up costs by developing a viable business plan and following a structured government program which included daily reports and financial updates.

I worked independently to ensure the growth of my business by finding clients and exceeding their needs.

Currently, I have been featured on a local news station to promote a new series of workshops I will be running in the Fall of 2009. I will be networking and building new client relations in the Fall as well, as I move forward with my company and revisit my business plan.
